Examination Schedules and Applicant Requirements

Entrance Examination

Phase Ⅰ
Application period Applications should be submitted from Tuesday 5 to Thursday 21 September 2017, as indicated by the postmark on the envelope.

Only on Friday 22 September 2017, applications can be directly submitted to the admission office at the Nagoya Campus from 9:00 to 16:00.
Date of examination Saturday 14 October 2017

Only for the Schools of World Englishes and International Liberal Studies, Saturday 7 October 2017
Single/ multiple application Multiple applications for Chukyo University and other universities, or for different departments or schools within Chukyo University, are allowed.

Applications for other schools or departments of Chukyo University, or other examination systems which conduct examinations on the same day are not allowed.

Deadline for enrollment procedure completion First enrollment procedure should be completed by Wednesday 1 November 2017.

Final enrollment procedure should be completed by Monday 4 December 2017 as indicated by the postmark on the envelope.
Phase Ⅱ
Application period Applications should be submitted from Friday 5 to Thursday 11 January 2018, as indicated by the postmark on the envelope.

Only on Friday 12 January 2018, applications can be directly submitted to the admission office at the Nagoya Campus from 9:00 to 16:00.

Both first and final enrollment procedures should be completed by the above-mentioned date.

※ International students should complete the final enrollment procedure by the dates shown above. No extension is allowed.

◎ Admission procedures - Application from outside Japan : Not available.

Applicant Requirements

Applicants must fulfill all the following requirements:

  • Applicants must have completed secondary education (equivalent to high school in Japan) outside Japan, or must have a minimum school education of 12 years and have reached 18 years of age at the time of enrollment.
  • Applicants must have or will have a "student" residence status in Japan as defined by the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act, and have a guarantor in Japan.
  • Applicants with a score of 180 or more on the "Japanese" section of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students(Eju), or a Score of N2 or higher for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.

  • ※3Interview for the School of World Englishes will be conducted in both Japanese and English.
  • ※4Essay for the School of International Liberal Studies includes questions that evaluate the English ability of applicants.
  • ※5Interview for the School of International Liberal Studies may ask questions in English.
  • ※6Interview for the Intercultural Studies of the School of Contemporary Sociology may ask questions in English.
  • ※7Oral examination for the School of Engineering may ask questions on basic knowledge about mathematics and physics required in university study, using a blackboard.
  • ※8Examinations in Phase Ⅱ (Japanese, English and mathematics) include the same examinations prepared by Chukyo University in Phase Ⅰ (combination of the National Center Test for University Admissions and Chukyo University’s examination with an extra weight given to a specified subject).

◎Interview may ask questions about answers applicants wrote in the written examinations.
